My Inspiration
Vivian D. Mansaray has been a passionate advocate for the education and well-being of students in the Ferguson-Florissant School District for over eight years. As a mother of three daughters—MacKenzie, Isabella, and Ivy—Vivian’s commitment to the district is deeply personal. A graduate of Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, she has earned recognition for her dedication to education, including being named the 2023-2024 Outstanding Parent at STEAM Academy McCluer South-Berkeley.
Vivian currently serves as President of the PTGs at both STEAM Academy and Commons Lane Elementary, Vice President at Halls Ferry Elementary, and contributes to the Board of Education Policy Review Committee. Her leadership and collaborative approach have made her a trusted voice in the district. Now, she is running for the Board of Education to promote academic excellence, inclusivity, and a supportive environment for every student, while working to restore the district’s reputation for excellence.
Improve Student Achievement
Improving student achievement starts with empowering and supporting our educators. The Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education must prioritize providing teachers with the resources, professional development, and support they need to excel in the classroom. By investing in our educators, we create a positive learning environment where students can thrive. When teachers feel valued and equipped, they are better able to inspire and engage students, driving academic success and fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

Safety
The safety of all students, staff, and educators in the Ferguson-Florissant School District is of utmost importance. Every individual should feel secure, respected, and supported while at school. The administration can enhance safety by implementing effective policies, providing adequate resources for emergency preparedness, and fostering a culture of respect and accountability. Collaboration with local law enforcement and community organizations can also ensure a comprehensive approach to safety. By prioritizing the well-being of everyone in the district, we create an environment where learning and growth can take place without fear.
Educators and Staff
As a candidate for the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education, I believe it's time to rethink how we attract and retain our educators. Our district needs to revamp its teacher recruiting efforts, making Ferguson-Florissant a place where educators want to build their careers, not just use it as a stepping stone.
To do this, we must ensure our teachers have the tools, resources, and professional development they need to do their jobs effectively. Our teachers are the backbone of our community, and they deserve a salary that reflects the hard work and dedication they put into shaping the future of our students.
Let's make Ferguson-Florissant a district that supports and values its educators and all staff, so we can provide the best possible education for our children. Together, we can create a brighter future for both our teachers and our students.
Transparency and Communication
Fostering transparency and open communication between the administration and the community is vital for building trust and ensuring that all voices are heard. The Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education must prioritize clear, honest, and consistent communication with students, parents, and staff. By keeping the community informed about decisions, policies, and progress, we create a culture of accountability and collaboration. Real communication empowers everyone to work together toward the common goal of improving our schools and supporting the success of every student.
Financial Governance
As a candidate for the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education, I believe the board must be good stewards of your tax dollars. Transparency is key, and it’s time to ensure every dollar is spent wisely to directly benefit our students and educators. We need to reevaluate how funds are allocated, ensuring that resources are directed to the areas that will have the greatest impact on student success and support for our teachers. Our community deserves a school board that prioritizes what truly matters: providing an excellent education for all.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Equity, diversity, and inclusion are core values that should be upheld by the administration of the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education. It is essential that every student, regardless of their background, feels valued and has equal access to opportunities. The Board must foster an environment where diversity is celebrated, and all students and staff are treated with respect and dignity. By embracing these principles, we ensure that our schools are safe, welcoming spaces where every individual can thrive and contribute to a more inclusive community.
Stakeholders
As a candidate for the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education, I believe it’s crucial that the board works closely with all stakeholders to ensure that everyone's needs are being met. By actively seeking input from those who are directly involved in our schools, we can make informed decisions that truly benefit our community.
We can explore initiatives like expanded before- and after-school care, tutoring programs, and additional homework support to help our students succeed. These efforts would provide a safety net for families and ensure that our students have the resources they need to thrive both academically and personally. It’s time to listen, collaborate, and create a school environment that works for everyone.
